this little girl makes life lovely and fun.

imagining there is a scary owl in the sunroom and then having pretend conversations with it.
she tells it, "stop. don't be scary, owl."

dylan got some thomas the train undies.
and it's been a party for him and jane.
me personally?
potty training is not a party.

late valentines.

hair.

she finally grew some hair.

and... it's a little fun.

and... a little mullet-y.

i was kind of worried the horse would take a finger.
luckily she left with all 10.

snow.

it's been snowing a lot lately.
and canceling dylan's morning school.
and making him sad.
so when it's time to play outside in the snow?
he splashes in the puddles.

i was digging through all the holiday photos i haven't organized.
this is the only one where jane isn't trying to slap dylan in the face for putting his arm around her.

crazy.

last week i metro'd down to crazy.

it took 1 hour to walk 4 city blocks.
awesome!
but i'm glad i went and i'm glad i got to see this guy:

queen.

she pushed her brother off.
and then stayed there until her fingers froze to the saddle.
i think she's going to be the equestrian in the family.

graham is one!

our neighbor just turned one!

my three favorite people on a walk this fall.

dylan has been so sweet lately.
we are so proud of our little guy.
and grateful that we aren't reliving last year's holiday season...

little miss jane has become a little sassy as of late.
she spends large chunks of her days yelling "no dylan", "don't do that" and "my toy".
maybe we'll put this picture on our fridge to see her smiling more.
and take it down when she's 30.

nature center.

the weather was perfect for the nature center yesterday.

dylan enjoyed throwing rocks into the pond.

and i enjoyed seeing his belly.
remind me to buy him a longer jacket.

the zoo.

we went to the national zoo and enjoyed the last of the fall colors.
the kids had a lovely time.
and we even got them to sit next to each other for a picture.

i love my little man's smiles.

last week i got to take photos of our friends and their new puppy waylon.
we had a lovely time.
and now i want a puppy.

trunk or treat.

our church puts on a little halloween party every year.
i was so proud of my little guy for patiently walking up to each car this year and saying, "trick or treat!"
he even out-did himself with lots of "thank you's" too.
pretty amazing (don't even get me started on what last year looked like...).

apparently a big storm is coming to the east coast.
so we ran out today and got some fall pictures before all the leaves blow away.
