moving furniture.

since jane is a burgeoning walker she uses anything that isn't nailed down to help herself walk.
and then dylan comes along to help it move faster.

hats.

this little girl tries to put everything on her head and then yells, "HAT!"
this time she actually found a hat.

nature center.

my cousin had the lovely idea to explore the new nature center in howard county this week.
it was very beautiful.
the kids had a great time and enjoyed running around.
and i loved the wildflowers.

scar face.

it was bound to happen...
dylan biked off a ledge, down a hill and into a fence.
his face pretty much stopped his fall.
thank you, helmet.
this lovely little face would have looked a whole lot worse.

p.s. his bangs hide the bruise on the forehead, the collar hides the under-the-chin scratch and his lips hide the chipped tooth...
p.p.s the next day he still biked 2.5 miles

happy and sad.

in the last few weeks dylan has started labeling his toys, friends, etc as either happy or sad.
when he looks in the mirror he practices happy and sad faces.
at the park i asked for a happy face and got this one.
i think it's pretty good:

our little "gretel" is quite expert at leaving a trail of her travels.

dylan woke up with great hair.
