i made some fresh rolls tonight.
dylan started yelling, "hot! hot! hot!" (his word for all refined carbs)
i asked, "you want a roll? can you say roll?"
-insert mumbled word, a confused look and then a flash of light-
he grabs the roll and starts *rolling* it around on the floor.
sweet.

weekend warrior.
today we went to patapsco state park to let dylan burn some energy.
he was bored after 20 minutes since the trail is flat.
that's when he found this little gem on the trail.
everyone else saw a bridge over water.
dylan saw a perfectly steep ramp, water, rocks and a cliff-waterfall-drop-off.
here, dylan grinning at his luck:
and a look of complete satisfaction:
sorry i don't have a picture of the tantrum he threw when we wouldn't let him bike off the cliff.
it was tender.

soaking himself in the stream:
climbing back up (the tongue provides balance?):

connect-a-train.
a favorite hobby for this little man.
his record is 5 trains at a time.
i guess it's like daisy chains for boys.

keep smiling, jane.
one of those mondays.
dylan, please stop throwing food, hitting and screaming.
jane, thank you for smiling even though you're sick.
you are a doll.

cars and trucks.
dylan loves cars and trucks.
so i thought he'd enjoy learning the word "car".
he didn't.
our "car lesson" went something like this:
"dylan what is this?"
"truck"
"it's a car"
"truck"
"car car car"
"truck"
"can you say car?"
"truck"
"there is a difference. this is a car"
pause...
"cartruck"
perfect.
