tire park.

patapsco park has a playground made out of old recycled tires.
our friends were kind enough to take us up there to play.
the park was quite perfect since dylan likes to run after trucks to pat the tires.
it's not my favorite thing that he does...
these tires were still filthy but at least they couldn't run him over.

i love this one.

bath time.

jane vs dylan is like david vs goliath.
dylan is incredibly coordinated and strong.
but jane is scrappy.
in this fight, she manages a win.
nice work, sweetie.

hobo.

dylan played a little too hard at the park.
so he curled up like a hobo on the slide and began to fall asleep.

too quiet.

"too quiet" is always a cause for concern.
this time "too quiet" found dylan in the kitchen stuffing his face with cinnamon chocolate chips.
just delicious, dylan.

bubbles.

tonight while getting dylan ready for bed in his room he looked up at the light streaming in through the windows and exclaimed, "bubbles!!!!"
sadly dylan... that's dust.

the quad.

dylan got to be one of the guys this weekend.

he and JT went cruising.

dylan was so happy riding the "tractor".

can't wait until he's older and wants his own "tractor".

gardening.

my parents are amazing gardeners.
growing up I didn't appreciate their talents.
i also didn't learn anything from them about vegetable gardens.
when mom came to visit she helped me start one.
unlike the pet fish, house plants and orchids the garden is somehow thriving in spite of me.
and the annoying kids in our neighborhood that slashed the greenhouse cover with a knife.

dylan got bored at the park so his grandpa had a great idea: swing dylan on the tree branches.
he was in heaven.

jane loves dylan.
and sometimes they get to picnic together and snuggle.

we headed down to DC to do a tour of the white house.
dylan wouldn't let go of his stroller so he stayed outside to push it around the park.
he even got a cheerful wave from an-almost-naked-protester.
and almost run over by the park police.
but a friendly tourist kindly offered to take our family photo.
doesn't dylan look happy?
he never let go of the stroller...

cruising.

they've been going for rides lately.
jane's tummy is so pudgy that dylan's crazy driving doesn't knock her off.
they've been having so much fun together.
well, let's rephrase.
they have fun when jane doesn't touch his stuff.

then he says, "baby sad" right before he kicks her face.
